Babe Ruth

It was his good buddy Babe Ruth who originally suggested to Keith Brewer that he create a pickup softball game and that he call it ZenBall.   Within a few years Keith and his brothers Harpo & Chico started the game.  Harpo later went on to umpire Zenball because of his expert ability to signal the call.  After his death, in the late 60s, no replacement umpire could be found...much to the dismay of George Smith.

Zenball continues to this day even though Roy Goodman continues to insist on wearing a Boris Badinoff T-shirt to the games.  Thank god that little green bat of his finally broke.
