My name is Don Callison, and I am running
                      for American Canyon City Council…

To all my fellow citizens I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I have been a resident of American Canyon since 1995. I don’t know if that makes me a newbie, an oldie, or somewhere in between, all I know is that American Canyon is my home, and I am proud of our community.

I am running for City Council, not because I think I have all of the answers, but because I am willing to listen to all sides of the issues. I will keep an open mind, and most importantly, I am willing to make choices that are best for the community based on the input of my constituents.

I can guarantee two things. One, we will not agree on everything, and two, that I will give you my undivided attention in discussing the issues that are most important to you and work to find common ground. One way I propose to do this is by holding monthly or quarterly “Town” hall type meetings. I will do this on my own dime using volunteers and money from my compensation as a Councilmember. In no case will I use City funds for this purpose. The goal of these meetings will be to discuss issues and challenges the city faces on the leading edge of the process. I hope this will lead to better informed citizens, more productive meetings, and a city where all citizens feel as if they have had the opportunity to participate. I envision having representatives from all neighborhoods, old, new, mobile home, apartments, etc. so that we have a balanced view of what is happening.

These are just a few of my thoughts. I look forward to sharing more with you over the next few weeks prior to the election. My name is Don Callison, and I would appreciate your vote for American Canyon City Council.
